Washington University Experience | NEURODEGENERATION | ALS | 1E1 ALS (Case 1) N18-19 Precentral gyrus TDP43 6
1E1-3 The precentral gyrus shows scattered TDP43 immunoreactive cytoplasmic skein-like inclusions but frontal and temporal lobes and hippocampus are spared. Thus, there is no evidence to indicate a generalized FTLD component to the patient’s disease. There is some fibrillary material within the cytoplasm of rare, scattered oligodendrocytes. Bielschowsky stained material does not show Alzheimer senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles.
