The cerebellum is one of the last sites to develop parenchymal Aß plaques which manifest as the diffuse type. The Thal Plaque Phase stages the regional accumulation of Aß and is an important part of the AA-NIA criteria where cerebellar parenchymal plaques (but not vascular amyloid alone) stratify as Thal stage phase 5.
