Case 2 History ---- This 74yo female patient had an early onset (age 59) of a dementia with an insidious onset of memory deficits which progressed to severe dementia over 15 years. There were no delusions, hallucinations or long term language dysfunction but she was mute for her last 6 months (CDR 3) dying of inanition, The onset, progression, and the memory and thinking deficits were characteristic of Alzheimer Disease but the differential diagnosis included frontotemporal dementia.
