3A 1,2 Whole mounts of temporal lobe stained for pTau (PHF1 IHC). PHF IHC detects established NFTs, as well as diffusely staining pretangles. Cortical sections have a well developed apparently laminar staining pattern reflecting neuronal NFT, plaques and individual neuropil threads. (PHF IHC)
