6B1-4 Tau immunohistochemistry also reveals some tau-immunoreactive astrocytic processes and coiled bodies; tau grains are best appreciated in the entorhinal cortex. There are foci of numerous diffuse beta-amyloid plaques and tangles, but neuritic plaques are infrequent. Frequent tangles are appreciated in the entorhinal cortex, which also has marked neuronal loss and gliosis.
