1A1 Crystal Storing Histiocytosis FLAIR 1 (Case 1, slice 8of29)
Case 1 History ---- The patient is a 65 year old man with a prior history of mantle cell lymphoma status post chemotherapy, who has had 2-3 months of deteriorating neurological function, most prominently involuntary movements of his right upper extremity but also more recently with some mild confusion, dizziness and some unsteadiness. The presence of a pre-existent lymphoproliferative disorder (mantle cell lymphoma) in this particular patient is the most likely etiology for his current pathologic findings. On imaging, he has multiple white matter lesions, many of which are associated with enhancement. Operative procedure: Left frontal burr hole and stereotactic brain biopsy demonstrating CSH. The patient is well three years later with residual disease. ---- 1A1-3 MRI images obtained prior to the biopsy performed in this case. ---- FLAIR examination demonstrates a hyperintense lesion involving the cerebral gyri and underlying white matter.
