1A2,3 Coronal slicing of the formalin-fixed hemibrain revealed mild dilatation of the lateral ventricle with rounding of the angle. The hippocampus was atrophic. Axial sections of the brainstem and radial sections of the cerebellum were unremarkable. The substantia nigra and locus caeruleus were both severely depigmented.
