Phospho-TDP-43 neuronal cytoplasmic inclusions are present at modest density in the dentate gyrus, and a few are scattered in the CA1 subfield and in the superficial laminae of the parahippocampal gyrus. ---- Not shown: Sparse tau-immunoreactive tangles are seen in the parahippocampus. No beta-amyloid plaques, no Lewy bodies and no Pick bodies are present. There is no significant arteriolosclerosis.
