The lateral ventricles appeared mildly dilated and there was rounding of the angles. ---- Final Diagnoses were: Parkinson’s disease (brainstem, limbic and neocortex); Alzheimer's disease-type changes, minimal ---- This case demonstrates Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites in brainstem nuclei, limbic areas and neocortex. The neocortical beta-amyloid plaques are modest, at an early stage and unlikely to have contributed to any cognitive changes (i.e., CERAD, NIA-Reagan criteria not met.)
