At autopsy, the weight of the unfixed brain was 1340g. ---- The sulcal-gyral pattern displayed mild atrophy. There was a 0.5 cm diameter, tan-brown, soft to cystic area in the right globus pallidus. There were bilateral needle tracts to the subthalamic nuclei.
