Sections of the brain show Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease with cortical Lewy bodies. There are numerous mature senile plaques and frequent diffuse plaques throughout the cortex. Neurofibrillary tangles are rare. Cortical Lewy bodies are not difficult to find. Both the substantia nigra and locus ceruleus show decreased neuronal density and increased gliosis. Lewy bodies are detected in many pigmented neurons. No other significant lesions are identified. ---- Neuro Final Diagnosis: Alzheimer's disease; Diffuse Lewy body disease
