10A2,3 Coronal sections of the cerebral hemisphere reveal a normal cortical ribbon, underlying white matter, and thalamus. The globus pallidus and putamen appear discolored and tan-orange. The ventricular system shows mild blunting of ventricular angles and is lined by smooth, glistening ependyma.
