1A1-4 The specimen shared at the AANP DSS slide session was a cross section of the sural nerve from which these images were captured. Each fascicle had 1-2 PB, usually in large myelinated axons but apparently some unmyelinated axons as well (superior arrow, 1A1). In typical sural nerve biopsies of control (normal) patients, no PB are found. (one micron thick toluidine blue stained plastic embedded nerves)
