Case 7 History ---- The patient is an 81 year old woman with neuropathy. Operative procedure: Left quadriceps muscle biopsy and left sural nerve biopsy. ---- 7A1,2 H&E stain of the muscle biopsy showed large numbers of subtle polyglucosan bodies (arrows) in many intramuscular nerves; this finding may be seen in older individuals or, if severe and diffuse in the nervous system, as part of several disease entities including adult polyglucosan body disease.
