Case 11 History ---- This 79yo female expired on April 1979 at an outside nursing home and was transferred to Barnes Hospital for pathological examination. The patient has a long history of a slowly progressive (8-9 years) dementia, with marked memory issues. The patient was evaluated in October 1973 for increasing forgetfulness and inappropriate behavior. She was oriented x 3 but had a slow flow of speech. She was re-admitted in February of 1975 after further progression of her dementia. Neurological examination at that time showed marked deterioration in her mental status. An EMI study at that time revealed a mild central and cortical atrophy. She expired shortly thereafter.
