Washington University Experience | NEURODEGENERATION | Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) | 7A1 PSP (Case 7) Gross_3
At autopsy the unfixed, fresh brain weighed 1400g. There was mild-to-moderate atrophy of the frontal and anterior temporal lobes, and mild atrophy of the anterior parietal lobes. Coronal slicing of the supratentorial portions of the formalin-fixed left hemibrain showed no significant dilatation of the lateral ventricle. There was no significant atrophy of the amygdala or hippocampus. The deep gray nuclei showed no evidence of discoloration or obvious degeneration, save for very subtle granularity of the pallidum.
