2A1,2 This pineal is that of a 68 year old man and shows various degenerative changes including patches of gliosis (best seen in 2A2) and calcifications (H&E) The pineal gland contains a number of different cell types admixed with pineocytes which may be distinguished using a variety of immunostains.
