Case 3 History ---- The patient is a 49-year-old male with progressive weakness, difficulty with ambulation and EMG/NCS findings suggestive of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Operative procedure: Muscle and nerve biopsy. ---- 3A1 The plastic sections of the AIN in this case clearly show significant loss of axons as well as the continued prominence of large myelinated axons in residual fibers. (Toluidine-blue stained one-micron thick plastic embedded section)
