Case 8 History (Myelin periodicity WSM Mimic) ---- The patient is a 6 year old female with a neuromuscular problem with fiber type atrophy. The sural nerve biopsy showed little pathology. ---- 8A1-4 At first the axon appears to have a myelin periodicity issue, but successively higher magnifications fail to show any change in periodicity. This difference in myelin osmiophilia may be similar to “two-toned myelin”. (electron micrographs)
