There was marked cortical atrophy described in the frontal and occipital poles most readily, but gyral narrowing to a lesser degree is present diffusely. Furthermore, the cortical ribbon shows significant narrowing diffusely, averaging 2-3 mm in width. The centrum semiovale and convolutional white matter appear correspondingly diminished in size.
