9B2-6 Additionally, the cerebellum shows widespread kuru plaques that are found in the Purkinje cell, molecular, and granular cell layers. These cerebellar plaques are negative for beta-amyloid and TDP-43 by immunohistochemical staining. TDP-43 staining is also negative in the hippocampal region. The blood vessels essentially lack amyloid deposition.
