Case 19 History ---- This patient was a 63yo male with a long history of alcoholism who died of aspiration pneumonia. ---- At autopsy the unfixed brain weighed 1290g. There were remote contusions involving both orbital gyri, temporal lobes and right lateral convexity. ---- 19A1,2 The whole mount shows involvement of the crest of the gyrus with loss of gray matter and pallor involving the underlying white matter.
