Case 13 History ---- The patient is a 36 year old who was admitted to Barnes-Jewish Hospital after emergency transfer with a diagnosis of a very large right parietal intracerebral hemorrhage with an intraventricular extension, left midline shift and evidence of incipient transtentorial herniation. It was reported that the patient had a history of some left eye twitching one week prior to transfer. On the morning of 1/26/00, the patient developed a spontaneous headache while driving to work, and had loss of consciousness and seizure-like activity. The patient was taken to an outside hospital, where she was noted to have dilated and fixed pupils, and was unresponsive. The patient was intubated and given Mannitol and emergently transferred to Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Operative procedure: Craniotomy for evacuation of clot and resection of AVM.
