Case 28 History ---- The patient is a 40-year-old female with a history of an intraventricular hemorrhage and was found on workup to have a left retrosplenial AVM. Two days prior she underwent a left occipital craniotomy for resection of the arteriovenous malformation. Approximately 90% to 95% resection of the lesion was achieved. However, a small residual nidus and draining vein remained both on intraoperative cerebral angiography, as well as formal cerebral angiography performed. Due to this residua it was recommended that the patient return to the operating room for complete resection of the residual arteriovenous malformation nidus. The patient was subsequently discharged to a rehabilitation facility.
