There is a long-standing resolving non-hemorrhagic (pale) infarct in the left temporal area extending up to the lateral ventricle including much of the internal capsule with evidence of hydrocephalus ex vacuo of the left lateral ventricle. Corticospinal tract degeneration was most visible in the left medullary pyramid (not shown). Areas of recent infarction also involve the left hippocampus, left frontal lobe and right parieto-occipital area without a septic appearance.
