In this image the lesion has been stained with VVG which shows internal elastic lamina in a normal vessel (arrowhead) as well as the loss of much of the disrupted aneurysmal wall while preserving several patches of VVG elastin (arrow) in the wall of the “abscess cavity”, establishing it as arterial in origin (VVG)
