6A1 Aneurysm, basilar tip, ruptured (Case 6) 6
6A1,2 The cerebral hemispheres are symmetrical and diffusely edematous. The gyri are swollen and the sulci are narrowed. There is subarachnoid hemorrhage encasing the base of the brain and cerebellum. There is no cingulate gyrus, uncal, or cerebellar tonsillar herniation. The vessels at the base of the brain show moderately severe atherosclerosis.
