Case 17 History ---- This was an 87 year old woman with a gradual, insidious 17 year course of Alzheimer disease following a pattern of slow, gradual decline in all domains of memory and thinking.---- At autopsy her unfixed, fresh brain weighed 1,050g. She received a diagnosis of Alzheimer disease neuropathologic change (High; A3, B3, C3; NIA-AA scheme) and had numerous microinfarcts in the frontal lobe gray matter. ---- 17A1,2 Marked atherosclerosis of the circle of Willis with few atheromata involving the lateral hemispheric vasculature.
