Case 6 History ---- The patient was a 93 year old woman with a history of Alzheimer disease and hypertension. She was hospitalized with pneumonia in August 2006 and died at a nursing home on 9/26 of pneumonia. ---- At autopsy the fresh brain weighed 1,260g. She had histopathologic findings consistent with argyrophilic grain disease and Alzheimer disease. ---- 6A1,2 Although not occlusive, small vessels are clearly involved by patchy atherosclerosis, seen at higher magnification in 6A2.
