Case 25 History ---- The patient is a 34 year old woman with a history of familial cavernous hemangioma syndrome presenting with seizures. An MRI scan shows a left frontal lesion and an old hemorrhage cavity on the other side. Operative procedure: Excision of mass. ---- Molecular genetic studies in this patient’s family showed a mutation in KRIT1 on chromosome 7q21 (most typically seen in CCM1, mainly Hispanic kindreds) and interacts with the RAS family of GTPases.
