9A0 Case 9 History
Case 9 History ---- The patient is an 8-year-old male with a history of multiple cavernous malformations. He presented for ongoing follow up after new concerns of seizure and right occipital cavernous malformation bleeds which began approximately 3 weeks prior to his clinic appointment. Per report, the patient was with his family picking berries when he complained of dizziness and a syncopal event and questionable seizure activity. His family had stated that his eyes deviated to the left and he became unresponsive. He was taken to the emergency department at an outside facility where an MRI was obtained that showed development of hemorrhage around the right occipital cavernous malformation with surrounding vasogenic edema. His MRI study at this time shows additional cavernous malformations in the right parietal lobe, left occipital lobe, and right pontine region. Operative procedure: Craniotomy and resection.
