3A1 Capillary hemangioma (Case 3) H&E 1
Case 3 History ---- The patient is a 6-month-old girl with a tethered spinal cord. Operative procedure and findings: Laminectomy, spinal cord detethering and resection of lipomyelomeningocele containing areas of capillary hemangioma and lipoma. ---- 3A1,2 The specimen consists of a patchy collection of mature adipocytes and areas of proliferation of benign capillaries with bland appearing nuclei forming hemangioma. In addition, there is admixed skeletal muscle fibers and peripheral nerve roots.
