Case 9 History ---- The patient is a 47-year-old man who suffered a left intracerebral hemorrhage in 2003, and underwent a craniotomy and evacuation of the hematoma. The patient has noted progressive left lower extremity dysfunction in the setting of chronic spastic paraparesis on the right. He typically has walked with a cane until approximately two weeks ago when he noted some difficulty with walking and is now presently unable to walk. A MRI scan of the thoracic spine showed an intradural/extramedullary lesion. ---- A highly vascular partially encapsulated lesion likely arising from the dorsal root entry zone was identified during surgery. ---- 9A1,2 The lesion is composed of delicate thin walled vessels (H&E)
