Case 6 History ---- The patient is a 46 year old woman with a history of metastatic breast carcinoma, S/P bone marrow transplant in 10/95. While walking from the bathroom, she fell and had an apparent seizure. Her level of consciousness decreased, she became unresponsive and was taken to operating room to treat an acute subdural hematoma. ---- Microscopic examination of the sections showed subdural hemorrhage admixed with reactive tissue composed of fibroblast and capillary proliferation with metastatic tumor ranging from scattered infiltrating individual tumor cells to well-formed duct-like structures with comedo-type necrosis. The tumor cells are composed of round to polygonal euchromatic nucleated cells, similar to her previously resected breast cancer.
