3A0 Case 3 History
Case 3 History ---- The patient was a 4-year-old boy with a history of new-onset headache, increasing in frequency, and associated nausea and vomiting. On the day of presentation, he appeared more sleepy than usual and showed some behavioral abnormalities. MR imaging performed at SLCH on June 29 showed an expansile solid and cystic posterior fossa mass. There was approximately 1.4 cm of cerebellar tonsillar herniation below the foramen magnum, and effacement of the fourth ventricle and displacement of the brainstem anteriorly. Posterior fossa craniotomy was performed and a pilocytic astrocytoma resected.
