Washington University Experience | VASCULAR | Herniation, uncal | 11A3 Herniation, uncal (PCA, Kernohan's) (Case 11) 1
11A3,4 The unci are necrotic, discolored and hemorrhagic. Bilateral hemorrhagic infarcts are impressive in the medial aspect of the occipital lobes. In 11A3 there is an area of infarction of the caudal orbital surfaces of both frontal lobes which would be unusual for uncal herniation alone. The cerebral peduncles in the midbrain show hemorrhage and necrosis.
