Lateral view of cerebral hemispheres at autopsy. The brain shows discoloration and opacification of the leptomeninges. The operculum has not closed in this premature infant by the time of death. The temporal lobe contains a few large gyri which may reflect opacification of the leptomeninges, immaturity or developmental defect.
