Case 8 History ---- This is a 64 year old man with an 18 year long history of multiple sclerosis and 2 year history of melanoma on his face which was discovered a few years prior to expiration. The patient was lost to follow up for the last 1.5 years of his life. At autopsy he has multiple areas of patchy neuron loss and microinfarction in the cerebellum. The pathogenesis of these lesions remains mysterious since the lesions are confined to the cerebellum, are histologically remote, and are not accompanied by emboli, vasculitis, arteriolosclerosis or adjacent tumor cell deposits.
