Hippocampal Anatomy: The regions of the normal hippocampus are labeled in this example stained for neurons (NeuN IHC). References vary on the precise location of the CA1/subiculum junction. In Hypoxic-Ischemic Injury in adults the CA1 (Sommer’s sector) is most sensitive followed by the CA4 (endfolium) and less sensitive CA2 & CA3.
