Case 9 History ---- The patient was a 12-year-old girl with restrictive cardiomyopathy who received a heart-lung transplantation and, following a stormy course with multiple hypoxic/ischemic episodes, died ~1+ days later. This pattern of hypoxia/ischemia more resembles an adult pattern as distinguished from the pattern of neonates and premature babies. ---- 9A1-3 Three magnifications of Sommer’s sector in this patient show patchy hypoxic/ischemic injury (H&E).
