5A2,3 The superficial cortico-meningeal wall of the cyst consists of congested leptomeninges containing numerous, dysplastic glial nodules and occasional foamy macrophages. There is a sharp transition zone between the superficial wall and the normal cerebral cortex. The white matter surrounding the cyst shows marked astrocytosis and pallor.
