Washington University Experience | VASCULAR | Infarct, watershed | 14C1 Infarct, watershed (Case 14)_6
14C1-3 Coronal sections of the cerebral hemispheres show brown discoloration, softening, and fragmentation of the brain throughout the watershed areas, namely the ACA-MCA (superior frontal gyrus, arrow, 14C3) and MCA-PCA watersheds (occipital lobe and inferior portions of the temporal lobe, arrowhead, 14C3). Outside of these regions, the cerebrum shows a generally well preserved cortical ribbon without areas of hemorrhage or necrosis.
