In this parieto-occipital section there are areas of recent infarction with petechial hemorrhage involving the cortex (arrowheads), focally involving cortex and white matter in the left superior area (blue arrow) as well as an area of right inferior occipital lobe (white arrow), the latter with a pattern of laminar necrosis.
