This whole mount shows one of the hemorrhagic infarcts with the causative intravascular embolus (arrowhead). It is common for infarcts involving the subcortical white matter to produce hemorrhage in cortex but pale non-hemorrhagic infarcts in white matter lesions in continuity (H&E)
