Case 11 History ---- The patient was an 80 year old man who presented to BJH ER on 10/19/97 with poor oral intake for one day and inability to turn his head. Upon arrival, he was noted to have agonal respiration, faint carotid pulse, and, then, asystole. EKG showed ventricular tachycardia. He expired despite vigorous cardiopulmonary resuscitation. His past medical history included multiple strokes approximately 15 years prior, with expressive aphasia and left hemiplegia residua. His terminal history was not available. ---- 11A1-3 Cystic tissue loss is seen in three different coronal sections involving the right cerebral cortex and deep gray nuclei.
