Case 13 History ---- The patient was a 51 year old woman with a ring enhancing left frontal lobe lesion on magnetic resonance imaging. Operative procedure: Stereotactic needle biopsy. The biopsy showed neuron loss, astrocytosis, macrophage proliferation and astrocytosis consistent with an infarct. There was no evidence of neoplasia. ----This miniscule parenchymal specimen is dominated by macrophages (H&E)
