14A1 Infarct, subacute (Case 14) H&E 1
Case 14 History ---- The patient is a 20 year old man who presented with sudden onset of headache to an outside hospital. Head CT and MRI examinations showed a 3 cm left cerebellopontine angle hypervascular malformation consistent with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) which was embolized with Onyx one day before surgery. ---- 14A1 This is a very active subacute infarct which may have arisen from hemorrhage-induced spasm from prior bleeding of the vascular malformation.
