Case 5 History ---- The patient was a 6 year old boy who presented with a one week history of headaches. Symptoms came on suddenly while the child was playing. Subsequent neuroimaging studies revealed a large hemorrhagic right temporal parietal lobe mass which proved to be an infarct; however, no reason was discovered to explain its pathogenesis. ---- 5A1,2 The margin of the infarct is sharp edged and composed of a confluent sea of macrophages, seen at higher magnification in 5A2.
