Case 7 History ---- The patient was a 72 year old diabetic (poorly controlled), hypertensive woman who recently suffered strokes in the anterior cerebral and middle cerebral artery territories. She also carried a diagnosis of leukocytoclastic vasculitis on skin biopsy and had a recent positive cryoglobulinemia screen. One of her lesions was biopsied. 7A1,2 This low magnification image is hypercellular largely due to the increased numbers of macrophages, although they are not obvious even at higher magnification in 7A2. A few red neurons (arrows) are still visible (H&E)
