Case 3 History ---- The patient is a 51 year old woman with a superficial, extra-axial, 1.8 cm mass in the left posterior fossa that has a well-defined margin and has increased in size since June 2011. The mass enhances heterogeneously, with no enhancement posteriorly and diminished enhancement centrally. There is mild displacement of the underlying cerebellum but no edema of the adjacent cerebellum. On sagittal and coronal images, the mass has a stalk or vascular pedicle at its superior margin that abuts the transverse sinus; the transverse sinus itself is patent, but shows a filling defect (interpreted radiologically as an arachnoid granulation) just anterior and peripheral to the pedicle or stalk. Radiological impression at outside institution included the differential diagnosis includes atypical meningioma, vascular lesion, glial neoplasm, and hemangioblastoma.
